    The Bolton Wanderers have a unique name history. They made their humble beginnings in Christ Church England when in 1874 their founder Thomas Ogden decided to gather support for a football team. The fledling Wanderers had no home field so they wandered to a nearby hotel grounds for their early games. The team has carried the name ever since.
